3 Tips to Make Good Intentions Working
Fri, January 15, 2010 at 11:55 From our Friday noon memo #13:
Most of us start the year with good resolutions that often tend to fade away over time. The same happens to organisations and their strategic or operational aspirations. Here are three simple steps to turn your professional enthusiasm into results:
- Record. Take daily notes of your observations and ideas for change. No matter if you use a notepad or an electronic device, track your experiences.
- Decide. Each Friday afternoon choose one of the topics where you see a realistic and quick potential for improvement. Write down a simple three to five-step plan to change the situation.
- Go for it. Follow up the execution with your colleagues and with yourself. Don’t let things slip away – instead, make your intentions real.
What are your recipes for little changes that make the difference? Share them with us as a comment.

Little changes. As one of the world's worst time managers I used to get overwhelmed. Probably the best thing I ever did was to do a daily to do list split into "Talk" and "Task" then number them. If I am feeling particularly heroic I split them into AM and PM.
A little change but makes a big difference to me. Interestingly enough, this started out as a task, but has now developed into a behaviour
Also I dumped my Blackberry after a decade of addiction :)
