Are you Apple or Microsoft?

From today on, Apple's market capitalisation exceeds the one of Microsoft. In other words: at the stock markets Apple is worth more than Microsoft. Considering that this market value reflects rather the expectations for the future than the current position makes the swop even more important.

Is this the begin of the end of Microsoft? Can they get back to their former speed or is this the start of a decline? One thing is sure: Since five years Apple has invested in future technology and new business models whilst Microsoft was continuing to deliver its old stuff, at only evolutionary invention rates.

It's good news that customer centricity, innovation, and bold strategic steps win over "doing more of the same". And it's also good to see that even the most successful ones can be passed by newer, and more agile businesses.

The future looks promising...
