Enjoying Valencia, thanks to French strike
Thu, February 25, 2010 at 18:34 Ran a sales process session for an international client at their EMEA sales conference in Valencia, Spain. Great setup, fantastic 5* hotel, motivated people. I think this company can quickly achieve the next performance level if implementing and executing effective business processes.
What amazes me in my consulting life is not only the diversity of people from all over the world that you meet, but also the travel surprises that sometimes turn up. We had booked the return flight for tonight. Since the route leads over French territory, and the French air traffic controllers are on strike our flight was cancelled. First 10 seconds embarrassed, but then i decided quickly to make the best of the situation. And there is a lot:
I extended the hotel stay for one night, enjoyed the spa, sitting now on the terrace with sea view and will go for dinner later tonight in Valencia. Tomorrow some sightseeing and some work. Not bad for an unexpected event.
Another tip: If you ever plan a romantic weekend with your spouse or a professional conference consider this hotel: www.hotel-lasarenas.com. Great service, low prices (in low season), directly at the beach. And - guess what is most important for me - perfect processes and customer oriented staff, friendly and motivated.
