How Much Ambiguity Do You Create?
Fri, February 4, 2011 at 11:59
Among all hurdles and challenges in life, what do you guess is the biggest root cause for failure, wasted time, and frustration?
It is AMBIGUITY. For both, organizations and individuals.
Consequently, if you want to perform better, be happier, or drive your organization to new horizons then remove one thing first: ambiguity. Surprisingly or not, there are people who – intentionally or not – love to create ambiguity. Read here about my recent experience with an ambiguity-addicted sales rep.
All great leaders are removers of ambiguity. Think about it for a moment. What do great leaders do?
- They are very clear about their vision.
- They decide quickly and deal with the consequences.
- They communicate straightaway and act consistently.
All this creates an environment where people feel save to invest their full energy.
Let me ask you this: How much ambiguity do you create? Everyone can be a great leader when it comes to removing ambiguity.
Let me suggest you this: Start by yourself. Start today. Be clear, be straight. Act. Your friends and colleagues will love you for it.
