Three essentials to overcome the challenge of real process execution

From our Friday noon memo #4:

In our last blog we discussed the challenge of real process execution and its impact on each organisation. Now, how to overcome the issue?

Three essentials:

  1. Be clear about your business processes. They are the best means to communicate and implement changes. Link each new change initiative or project to your process map.
  2. Think local: Run focus interviews and assessments with your local entities and identify the execution deficits along the business processes. Prioritize the necessary change activities from the local perspective.
Important: Get unbiased input from the process performing people, not only their managers.
  3. Complete the prioritized initiatives, projects and changes before starting new ones. In many cases "implemented" changes are not fully executed and the expected value is not realized.

The keys to success: consistency and a structured approach. The effects: improved execution rate, motivated employees, compliance, higher predictability and better business results.

More details and a hands-on methodology in our position paper "Overcoming the Challenge of Real Processes Execution".

Till next time. Volkmar
