You think you are in control? Sure?

"I'm here for the 'big picture'. Execution is something for my 'blue and white collar workers'. They need a system for doing this. I don't."
Sounds bizarre? Well, this is the impression I get quite often when talking to CEOs and leadership teams. If you are part of these – as most of my readers are – then take a mirror, look at you and ask yourself:
"What is my system for achieving my goals?"
- Do I have clear goals, a vision, and a strategy? Do all of my team members share them?
- Can I describe my system for strategy implementation in less than 30 seconds? Or do I see strategy execution as a task that somebody will do somehow, sometimes, or never – as in most organisations?
- What is my system for sticking to decisions? Seriously, the bulk of non-executed decisions is one of the key reasons why so many leadership teams are lame and continuously wasting their time in endless meetings.
As a leader, take control of your strategy and its execution. Or others will take control of you. Learn more.
